Ingredients
-
2 kg beef ribs, cut into 6 pieces
-
1 1/2 cups Spicy Rye's Barbecue Sauce, divided
-
2 tsp salt
-
1 tsp black pepper
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
1 tsp paprika
-
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for added heat)
Directions
Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
In a large bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using) to create a dry rub for the beef ribs.
Pat the beef ribs dry with paper towels, and then evenly coat each piece with the dry rub mixture, ensuring that all sides are covered.
Place the seasoned beef ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminium foil, bone-side down.
Cover the baking sheet tightly with aluminium foil, ensuring the ribs are completely sealed. This will help to lock in moisture and create tender, juicy ribs.
Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2 hours or until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bone.
While the ribs are cooking, reserve 1 cup of Spicy Rye's Barbecue Sauce for serving. Set aside.
Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully uncover the foil. Brush the ribs generously with the remaining 1/2 cup of Spicy Rye's Barbecue Sauce.
Increase the oven temperature to 220°C (425°F) and return the ribs to the oven, uncovered. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the sauce has caramelised and the edges of the ribs are slightly crispy.
Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Serve the Spicy Rye's Barbecue Beef Ribs with the reserved barbecue sauce on the side, and pair them with your favourite side dishes, such as mashed potato, coleslaw, cornbread, or baked beans. Enjoy your delicious, finger-licking meal!
Recipe Note
Marinate for added flavour: For even deeper flavour, consider marinating the seasoned ribs in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight. This will allow the dry rub to penetrate the meat more effectively.
